Most posts in the IIT Jodhpur Non-Faculty Recruitment 2026 are not meant for fresh graduates. Eight of the ten post codes always ask for work experience. Three of them (Junior Superintendent, Junior Technical Superintendent and Senior Assistant) name Central or State Government, autonomous bodies and PSUs as the places where that experience must come from. The jobs are on a regular basis, 20 in all, under Advt No. IITJ/OR(NF)/2026-27/64. Applications are online only, and the Institute says it will not accept correction requests after submission. Read the experience-certificate rules below before you pay any fee.

Who Should Apply and Who Should Think Twice

A good fit if you

  • already meet the marks and experience rules for your post on 30.10.2026, not later.
  • can produce experience certificates on the employer’s letterhead with all the details the notification asks for.
  • hold a category certificate in the Government of India format (if you claim a category).

Think twice if you

  • are applying for Junior Superintendent, Junior Technical Superintendent or Senior Assistant with only private-sector experience. The notification names Central or State Government, autonomous bodies and PSUs for these three posts, and does not name private employers.
  • can only show appointment letters, pay slips, promotion orders or a self-employment certificate as proof of experience. The notification does not accept these.
  • work in a government department or PSU and cannot get a No-Objection Certificate (NOC). Without it you will not be allowed to appear for the test or interview.
  • are looking at Assistant Registrar without current service at supervisory level. The post asks for 5 years at Level 6 or above, including 3 years in a Centrally Funded Technical Institute.

Age limit and birth-date edge

The age is checked on the closing date, 30.10.2026. The table shows the birth date on which a General category candidate turns exactly the limit age on that day.

Upper age limit Posts Born on this date = exactly the limit age on 30.10.2026

30 years Senior Assistant 30.10.1996
27 years Junior Technical Assistant 30.10.1999

Anyone born after the date shown is younger than the limit. The notification does not say whether a person who is exactly the limit age on 30.10.2026 is still eligible, so candidates born on these dates should check the Institute website.

Selection Process

1. Scrutiny and shortlisting

Candidates are first shortlisted on the information in the online form and the uploaded scans. If many applications arrive, the Institute may call only those with qualifications and experience above the minimum. Tip: list every extra qualification and experience you have, with proof.

2. Written test, skill/trade test and/or presentation/interview

The Institute may hold any of these for any post, at its own discretion. Being called does not guarantee selection. Tip: keep your registered mobile number and email active, because all communication goes there. No TA/DA is paid for attending any stage.

3. Document verification

Provisionally selected candidates who clear document verification are considered for final selection. Tip: bring the printout of your application form, and the CGPA conversion document if you submitted an undertaking earlier.

4. Medical fitness and probation

Appointment is subject to medical fitness as per the norms, followed by probation as per Institute norms. Tip: the Institute can also check your background after joining, and fake documents lead to immediate termination.

Detailed syllabus is not part of the notification.

What Applicants Commonly Get Wrong

  • Uploading appointment letters, appreciation letters, pay slips, transfer or promotion orders, office orders, unsigned certificates, self-employment certificates or a Pension Payment Order as experience proof. The notification says such uploads will be rejected.
  • Experience certificates that do not state the nature of duties and the period of work.
  • Private-company salary certificates showing only one consolidated amount. A breakup is needed.
  • Forgetting the CGPA conversion document when the degree is graded in CGPA.
  • Uploading unclear or unreadable scans. These applications are summarily rejected.
  • Using an OBC-NCL or EWS certificate issued before 01.04.2026 or not valid for 2026-27.
  • Expecting to fix errors later. No correction requests will be entertained, and no extra documents are accepted after 30.10.2026.
  • Filling the form but not finally submitting (freezing) it.
  • Applying for two posts on one form or one fee. Each post needs its own application and fee.
  • Applying from a government job without an NOC.

Check Before You Apply

  • The vacancy count is tentative. The Institute can change the number, withdraw posts at any time without giving reasons, or leave any post unfilled.
  • Any corrigendum or amendment will be published only on the Institute website, so check it regularly.
  • Meeting the minimum qualification does not guarantee a call for the test. Canvassing in any form leads to disqualification.
  • False information can lead to rejection at any stage, and even cancellation or termination after appointment, without notice or compensation.
  • The Institute will not answer queries about eligibility or rule interpretation, and will not respond to emails or calls about syllabus or shortlisting.
