Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is the approximate in-hand salary for NTET qualified teachers?
The NTET is a qualification test, not a recruitment notification. Salary depends on the specific school or state recruitment board where the candidate applies after qualifying. Typically, government school teachers under 7th Pay Commission get ₹35,000–₹45,000 gross per month.
What is the last date to challenge the NTET 2026 answer key?
The last date to submit challenges is 3 May 2026. Fee payment also closes on 3 May 2026 at 11:50 PM. No challenges will be accepted after this deadline.
How many vacancies are notified with NTET 2026?
NTET is an eligibility test (like TET) and does not announce vacancies. Candidates who clear NTET become eligible to apply for teacher recruitment posts under various state and central school boards.
What is the minimum educational qualification for NTET 2026?
As per previous NTA notifications, candidates need at least 50% marks in Senior Secondary (or equivalent) and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education / 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) / B.Ed. Check official notice for exact requirements.
What is the age limit for appearing in NTET?
NTA typically sets no upper age limit for NTET. Minimum age is 18 years. Age relaxation for reserved categories follows government norms (OBC 3 years, SC/ST 5 years, PwD 10 years) whenever a recruitment is based on NTET score.
What is the application fee for NTET 2026?
The answer key notification does not include application fees. For the exam held on 28 April 2026, fees were ₹1000 for General/OBC, ₹800 for SC/ST/PwD. Payment was online.
What is the selection process after NTET?
Clearing NTET is the first step. After obtaining the NTET certificate, candidates must apply separately to teacher recruitment drives by State Education Boards, KVS, NVS, or CBSE affiliated schools – each having its own written exam or interview.
Can final year students apply for NTET?
Yes, as per previous NTET notifications, candidates appearing in their final year of D.El.Ed / B.El.Ed / B.Ed are eligible to apply provisionally. They must submit proof of qualification at the time of certificate verification.
What documents are required for the answer key challenge?
No documents are required for the challenge itself – only a valid login and payment method. However, if you refer to a standard textbook as proof, you may keep a scanned copy ready before submission.
Is there negative marking in NTET 2026?
Officially, NTA has not confirmed negative marking for NTET 2026. In previous years, there was no negative marking. Check the final information bulletin on the NTA website for clarity.
